Assignment Demo #1

For Demo #1 you are going to add a document to the list of writings of Aristotle. You will select items from dropdown lists. Open the frontend display. You will see a list of Greek and Roman classical authors. Select any author to display a list of writings by that author. Return to the list of authors by hitting the "Authors" button. You are going to add the document: On Sense and the Sensible. After viewing a few lists to see what they look like, close the frontend display window. Open the backend display and login.

Step 1:

From the blue tables bar, select Aristotle.

Step 2:

From the green actions bar, select new record.

Step 3:

Select the following items from the dropdown lists:

1. From "Document Category" select: Natural History
2. From "Document Subject" select: Physics
3. From "Document Title" select: On Sense and the Sensible
4. From "Document Collection" select: Greek
5. From "Document Period" select: 400-300BC

Step 4:

Check the Add to Bibliography List checkbox.

Step 5:

Hit the "Save" button.

Now open the frontend display again. Select Aristotle from the list of authors. On Sense and the Sensible will be included in the list of writings. Congratulations, you have just updated a dynamic online document.
